As part of our 30th Anniversary year-long celebration, CHOICES is launching 'Gentle'men Against Domestic Violence, an innovative program that spotlights the importance of involving men and boys in ending the cycle of domestic violence. An expansion of our former Founding Fathers program, 'Gentle'men Against Domestic Violence will provide participants with the opportunity to take a more active role as advocates against domestic violence.
Participants in 'Gentle'men Against Domestic Violence will learn specific ways to become more involved in the effort to end domestic violence in our homes and communities. In addition to an annual personal financial contribution of $1,000, members are urged to demonstrate their commitment by participating in one or more of the following activities:
- Host a "Circle of 30" gathering to raise awareness of the issue
- Become a Table Captain for our 31st Annual Peacemaker Awards Luncheon on October 22, 2008 (visit our website for more information)
- Call or write to your Member of Congress regarding proposed Federal Budget cuts that directly affect domestic violence agencies - we'll even provide you with a sample letter and/or phone script
- Invite a friend, family member, or co-worker to join 'Gentle'men Against Domestic Violence
- Become a more effective advocate by staying informed on the issue and sharing with family, colleagues, and friends
